Malia White Reveals Whether She Keeps in Touch with Wes Walton and What He's Doing Now
Here's what happened when the Below Deck Med Season 2 bosun met Malia White's current boyfriend.
Season 5 of Below Deck Mediterranean couldn't be more different than Malia White's first season on the show. This season, Malia climbed aboard The Wellington ready to crush it as the first female bosun in Below Deck history and is currently in a relationship with boyfriend Tom. But back in Season 2, Malia was a green deckhand who found herself in a bit of a love triangle with chef Adam Glick and bosun Wes Walton.
On the subject of boatmances, Wes ultimately won Malia's heart that season, and the two were interested in exploring a relationship by the time they disembarked the Sirocco at the end of Season 2. They even dated for a time after the charter season ended before eventually calling it quits.
But just because their romance was over doesn't mean their friendship had to end. Malia told The Daily Dish during an interview over the phone earlier this season that she and Wes still keep in touch today. "He has had some amazing yachting experiences recently. He’s been traveling all over the world," Malia said of Wes. "We’re still good friends. He keeps me updated with his travels, and I tell him about mine."
Malia isn't kidding. If you take a look at Wes' Instagram feed, you'll see that he has been traveling for work and pleasure all around the world since Season 2 of Below Deck Med, including the Bahamas, Indonesia, Australia, Brazil, and even the Arctic.
In addition to currently "killing it" as a chief officer, according to Malia, Wes also co-authored an article in an academic journal since his time on Below Deck Med, he recently shared on Twitter.
Malia's current boyfriend, Tom, has even spent some time with Wes. "Him and my boyfriend actually hung out in New Zealand, but I wasn’t there, which is funny [laughs]," Malia said, adding that there was no awkwardness between them. "Small world, yachting is."
As for Malia's other fling in Season 2 of Below Deck Med, Adam, the two aren't in communication these days, according to the bosun. “I wish him well, though. I have no hard feelings towards Adam," Malia told The Daily Dish. "I think there’s definitely a good guy in there somewhere. We just don’t keep in touch."
