Andy Cohen Reflects on His "Complicated Relationship" with the Real Housewives
The WWHL host opens up about how he manages his relationships with the Real Housewives.
Let's face it: Andy Cohen is pretty close with the Real Housewives. We mean, he often texts with them, so the lines of communication are open (clip above). And now we're learning a bit more about the Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen host's relationship with the myriad of ladies who make up the franchise.
"I very much believe in boundaries. And sometimes I keep boundaries up with people who have no boundaries. These are people who invite cameras into their homes," he shared with Paper magazine about his relationship with the ladies of the Real Housewives franchise. "It's a complicated relationship... I'm a boss, I'm a friend... I'm an adversary, I'm a button pusher. I've become legitimately friends with many of them. I care about them. So it's nuanced. And sometimes it's great and sometimes it's not great. It's an emotional relationship."
That relationship between the Real Housewives executive producer and the cast members was definitely celebrated when so many current and former 'Wives gathered in L.A. earlier this year to fete the talk show host at his baby shower. It was a wild affair that certainly paid homage to how close he is to the crew.
In Paper, on which he appears on the cover as pop culture icon Andy Warhol, the WWHL host opened up about today's pop culture landscape and how Real Housewives fits in it. "So much of what [Warhol] was talking about came true. Today, part of me thinks that he would be painting the Real Housewives, because they're real people that became famous, and there's something larger than life about them," he said. "They could be a part of his Factory, in a weird way. They're part of mine."
