Amanda Batula Has a Surprising Defense for Lindsay Hubbard Against Kyle Cooke
See what prompted Amanda Batula to stand up for Lindsay Hubbard during Part 1 of the Summer House Season 8 reunion.
During the Summer House Season 8 finale, the entire female cast rallied around Lindsay Hubbard after news broke that her engagement to Carl Radke had ended. Months later, during Part 1 of the Season 8 reunion, the solidarity continued — from Amanda Batula specifically.
Early on in the June 6 episode, Carl, Lindsay, and Kyle Cooke began discussing the drama surrounding the former couple's potential wedding party. The conversation went down after host Andy Cohen brought up Carl's request for Kyle to be the "flower boy" in his wedding. Carl had previously alleged the decision was made because Lindsay didn't want Kyle to be in the wedding, but she said this was simply not true.
Cue Amanda's kind words for Lindsay. "It would have been very understandable if Lindsay did say 'No, I don't want Kyle standing up there with us' because of the way he's behaved towards her," Amanda chimed in. "I know you didn't say it, but I want to let you know, even if you did, I would have supported that. I get it."

Kyle, for his part, explained that he didn't once expect Carl to offer him a "mission critical" role on his big day.
"I knew that I'd inserted myself into their relationship the prior summer," he said. "Also, he has a lot of really good buddies that he keeps in touch with. I wasn't expecting much. I maybe expected just a groomsman title? I was more focused on ... 'am I in the wedding party?'"
Where Lindsay Hubbard and Kyle Cooke Stand Today
Lindsay and Kyle may have had their issues in the past like Amanda pointed out, but that's all behind them — for the most part. As Lindsay put it on the reunion, "As far as I know, we're in a good spot, or at least decent and fine."
"We've always been able to bounce back," added Kyle. "We have this brother-sister relationship where we hold each other accountable, we call each other out."
You can watch the rest of the Summer House reunion when Part 2 premieres on Thursday, June 13. Episodes are available to stream the next day on Peacock.
