Here's What Jenna MacGillivray Has to Say About Her Reaction to Adam Glick's Flowers
It wasn't the only awkward moment on Below Deck Sailing Yacht that night.
The award for the most awkward night in Below Deck history definitely goes to Below Deck Sailing Yacht's April 27 episode.
The day started off promising. After Jenna MacGillivray told Adam Glick that her past partners didn't really perform romantic gestures and that she'd "probably cry" if he gave her flowers, the chef headed to the beach to get a little surprise gift for his girlfriend under the guise that he was going to pick some garnishes. Even hitting his head on a large tree branch after stepping off the tender couldn't stop Adam from picking wildflowers for his sweet (clip above).
But then things quickly went south for both the crew and the guests. The Parsifal III yachties organized a beautiful bonfire for the guests to eat dessert on the beach that night, and apparently one guest was just feeling the lovely ambiance so much that he spontaneously decided to propose to his girlfriend, the primary charter guest, with Jenna's ring, no less. Unfortunately, she declined his offer, saying that she wasn't ready to get married, and discomfort pervaded the atmosphere for everyone on the beach.
Things got even more cringeworthy for Jenna when she returned to the yacht. Adam surprised her with the flowers, but her reaction was a little more low-key than he had hoped. "It hurts a little bit. I was excited to give her flowers. I worked all f--king day for it," he said in an interview during the episode. "I wanted to make her feel special, and then when I didn't seem to make her feel special, it was like I failed, and I f--king hate failing."
Jenna reflected on all of the awkwardness that night in her recent Instagram Story, sharing a still of herself and Paget Berry during the beach bonfire that night that seems to encapsulate her reaction to every uncomfortable thing that went down that episode. "The proposal! And also, how I react to sweet things like flowers I guess," she joked. "Perpetually awkward."
At least she can now look back on all of this and laugh!
See what's coming up for Jenna and the rest of the Parsifal III crew in an all-new episode of Below Deck Sailing Yacht on Monday, May 4 at 9/8c, below.
