5 Things To Know About Imposters' Stephen Bishop
Find out what this #Imposters' star shares with his on-screen character.
Bravo's latest series Imposters is sparing no surprise and keeping viewers glued to their screens. The suspense continues when we find out Inbar Lavi's Maddie might not be the only Imposter. Is her organic love interest Patrick, played by Stephen Bishop, also hiding a secret? Stephen told The Daily Dish in an exclusive interview that he sees similarities between him and his character on the show. Find out what the two might have in common and other things you might not have known about the actor, below.
1. Let's Play Ball
Before becoming an actor, he first played baseball as a free agent for the Atlanta Braves and then bounced around for a few other teams throughout the '90s. He seems to be involved with the sport now, though with much younger players. Interestingly, Stephen portrayed professional baseball player and former New York Yankee David Justice in the critically acclaimed Moneyball starring Brad Pitt. Though Stephen told Bravo that he wasn't able to attend the award circuit, and at that time it was about paying his dues. Well, now it seems like the actor is cashing in on Imposters.
2. Stephen Shares Traits with Patrick
Stephen revealed to The Daily Dish that he sees a lot of himself in his character Patrick. While filming, he would travel around Vancouver solo to live Patrick's life and really get into this loner vibe. That's not to say he didn't develop a solid comradery with his fellow cast mates. Stephen also shared some qualities with his on-screen character, "The openness and the sensitivity to Maddie that I try to have with most people in my life. I try to be compassionate and empathetic, and I’m a fixer. I try to make sure people are all taken care of and so Patrick is a lot of that as well."
3. He Gives Back
In line with his sports past, Stephen is an avid golfer. So much so, that he started a charity from the game called the Stephen Bishop Celebrity Golf Invitational. The event draws celebrities to raise money for #RAKE (Random Acts of Kindness Everywhere). The idea behind the campaign is to pay it forward.
4. A Certain Taste in Films
Stephen has a classy taste in movies, and he told The Daily Dish one of his all time favorites is Pulp Fiction. Perhaps its the snazzy suits he relates to. Though in 2016, he also shared that he took a liking to Deadpool and he always catches it on long flights.
5. Spreading the Message
In addition to golfing for the cause, Stephen uses his Instagram to promote causes he speaks up and cares about.
