10 Questions with RHONJ's Secret Weapon, Greg Bennett
The scoop on Albie and Chris' brother from another mother.
Who's that guy? This season on The Real Housewives of New Jersey (and our own Bravotv.com exclusive series, Boys to Manzo), viewers were introduced to one-third of Albie and Chris Manzo's Hoboken triple threat, Greg Bennett. From Hoboken to Punta Cana and eventually, into our hearts, it's been quite a journey for the man RHONJ recapper Jay Mohr calls "my Greggy." Hear more about his girl crush on Melissa Gorga and we'll let him explain why his muffin shop is closed. Well, hot damn.
The Dish: Are you a native Jersey boy?
Greg: I grew up in Bridgewater, New Jersey! It's central Jersey though, so it was more Wisteria Lane than leopard print, marble, and onyx.
The Dish: Why did you decide to live in Hoboken with Albie and Chris?
Greg: I'd been living in Manhattan since graduating from Fordham. The boys and I would go out in the city together once or twice a week. I was tired of the crazy pace of the city, and the boys were itching to get out on their own. Hoboken is great because I can see the city, but I don't have to smell it, and if I want to smell it, I can take the PATH train in. An additional bonus is that the streets are clean, so Deloris doesn't find an old chicken bone on every one of her walks, like she did in the city.
The Dish: Who's the better dresser: Albie Manzo or Deloris?
Greg: They're both great dressers, but Deloris is definitely more of a fashion risk taker. She got a lot of heat for a fuchsia vest she wore a few episodes back, but I personally think she hits it out of the park every time. She's been so busy enjoying her rise to stardom that she hasn't had any time to get a fall wardrobe together.
The Dish: Are you currently seeing someone?
Greg: I am taken. The muffin shop is closed.
The Dish: Does Melissa Gorga approve?
Greg: Melissa loves my boyfriend, and Joe is obviously jealous of him. All of the ladies have met him, and they all approve. ...
The Dish: Who's hotter: Melissa or Joe?
Greg: Like I said in Punta Cana, hottest couple ever, but I think Melissa wins. She's stunning! I know a lot of people were on the fence about her at first, but she won me over the night I met her at Jacqueline's Christmas party. She's got a really quick sense of humor, and none of the jokes I tell her go over her head, which is why we hit it off right away. She also never mentions the only other guy I feel competition with when it comes to our bestfriendship: Jesus.
The Dish: RHONJ viewers adore you this season. Are you surprised to be such a fan crush?
Greg: I'm honored! I know fans of the show are very passionate about who they like and don't like, so to have a lot of support really makes me happy.
The Dish: Will you be back for more next season?
Greg: I guess you'll have to watch and see :-)
The Dish: What's something viewers would be shocked to know about you? And surprised to know about your roomies?
Greg: I was homecoming king in high school! Well, I wasn't, I was runner-up, but the king gave me the crown at our 5 year high school reunion, so basically I was homecoming king in high school!! Chris is a world class chef (best pork chop ever). Al writes poetry by candlelight on stormy nights.
The Dish: If you were the next Bravolebrity to record a song, what would it be called and why?
Greg: Well, Deloris already beat me to it and recorded a song called "A Wench Like Me"; she may or may not have been inspired by Melissa's famous rendition of Amazing Grace. I don't know how I could possibly follow that.
