Wait, Did a Vanderpump Rules Producer Hint at a Kristen Doute and Brian Carter Breakup Back in January?!
"I feel like if things go sideways with Kristen and Carter... " teased co-executive producer Jeremiah Smith. What? What?!
Kristen Doute and Brian Carter have always seemed like one of the more solid couples on Vanderpump Rules, but troubles between the two were revealed when, during a girls trip to Solvang, Kristen melted down over relationship issues the two had been having for some time.
Stassi Schroeder also noted one major issue between the two was the fact that Carter "does nothing."
Kristen herself gave an update during Monday night's Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen after a caller asked if she was still with Carter. "OK, you know what? Honestly, I bleed out for this show. I show every single second of everything, and so for this, I'm just gonna have to say we're figuring it out, especially if you want to talk about what's happening today, like the show airing and what's been going on in our relationship for the past year or more, we're figuring it all out," she said. "So we'll let y'all know when we get to that place."
Andy Cohen paused dramatically, saying the update "doesn't sound promising." (See for yourself in the clip above.)
Then, the trailer for next week's episode promises more of the couple's issues will be revealed.
But let's rewind back to January.
Vanderpump Rules' co-executive producer Jeremiah Smith appeared on an episode of a podcast called Bachelor Party, where he chatted everything you'd ever want to know about the show. It's a good listen; he opines that he thinks Stassi and Beau are "gonna have a happy accident" (meaning... yes, a baby), and talks about Scheana Shay's love life.
Then, when asked about the "next big breakup?" Here's what he says:
"I would say Kristen and Carter maybe…"
The "next big falling-out?"
"I feel like if things go sideways with Kristen and Carter, that maybe it will actually end up being Kristen and the girls because the more miserable Kristen is, the more miserable she makes her friends, and they lose patience and then that leads to a fight. It’s happened 100 times before... They always get back together and they’ll always be friends," he mused.
And when the host notes that "Carter seems well liked by the group," here's what Jeremiah said:
"Ummm, he’s a chill guy... he’s, you know... he’s around."
As Andy Cohen says, doesn't sound promising, does it?
