Jeff Lewis Reveals Anxiety About Eating Out Alone After Split From Gage Edward: "I'm So Embarrassed"
Jeff Lewis says he's done his share of crying in restaurants since his breakup with Gage Edward.
Jeff Lewis has confirmed that he has separated from his longtime partner Gage Edward. The Flipping Out designer shared the news during his Radio Andy show Jeff Lewis Live on January 31. In the show, he also revealed that Gage has moved from their shared home into a hotel — and that, amid the split, Jeff has trouble confronting experiences that used to bring him joy.
He explained that he's done a lot of crying in public — and specifically in one of his favorite restaurants, which makes the idea of going back there seem like a troubling obstacle.
"I'm done crying," he said. "So if you see me at Ruth’s Chris, Orlando and Tampa… there is no more crying. I’m cried out. I’m done. I’m so embarrassed."
Recalling his own crying at the chain steakhouse, which he described as "terrible," Jeff described a conundrum he's facing now.
"I have to go back to Tampa for work this month... I really want to go to Ruth’s Chris because I love the butter steaks," he said on the show. "And I thought, well, A — I'm probably going to be by myself. Which is fine. But B — I think I’m going to wear a disguise. I want to go there... what if I just wear a cap and glasses?"
