Melissa Gorga: "I Have Teresa Giudice's Back"
The RHONJ star says she supports her embattled sister-in-law.
For several seasons of the Real Housewives of New Jersey it seemed like we'd never witness peace between the Gorgas and the Giudices, but as loyal viewers know, over the past few weeks, the incredible has happened: the two warring families have found a way to resolve their differences. On last night's Watch What Happens Live, the one question everyone wanted to ask Melissa Gorga was simple: What's the status of the two families' relationship today—especially in light of the Giudice's serious legal situation.
"We are in a much better place than we've been in a really long time," Gorga says. "And yes, of course I've reached out and spoke to Teresa, and um, she knows, you know, I have her back and that, you know, the kids of course are the number one priority and, you know, that's what Joe and I are always here for no matter what."
Looking back at the epic brawl between her husband Joe and Teresa's Juicy Joe in upstate New York, Gorga said the showdown took a toll on her: "It was so stressful. I mean, we went from rock bottom to hugging it out, drinking, I had a couple of drinks, I was so relieved that it was better."
And it seems like the treaty has held. Gorga insists the two families are "better together." "I feel like everyone likes to see us together, anyway. It's just more fun, it's better, it's easy," she says.
"We have a lot in common," she goes on. "As much as we don't have in common, we have stuff in common as well. We just have a good time together."
And the "key," she adds, is that the kids can be together. "That's the most important part. You know, my husband has one sister."
