Dr. V Helps Teresa and Melissa End Their Beef
"The blogging and tweeting is just a recipe for disaster," the therapist says.
On last night's touching Real Housewives of New Jersey, Dr. V did the impossible: she helped Teresa Giudice and her brother Joe Gorga reconcile after years of hurtful brawling, name-calling, and rumor-mongering about each other and their spouses.
But what about what's been happening since then? As an astute caller pointed out on Watch What Happens Live, Melissa Gorga and Teresa remain openly hostile to each other in their blogs. Will those harsh words undo the healing they accomplished on the retreat? Luckily, Dr. V was there to help explain how the duo can end their blog beef.
"It's so easy to project all of your nonsense onto a computer screen," she explains. "I think because this family is so passionate and so whole-hearted, that these blogs and these tweets… I think it's in the way. They need to relate."
Teresa jumped in to add that she reached out to her sister-in-law after reading a recent post to say, "Are you kidding me? I thought we were in a good place." Melissa's response, according to Teresa? "Oh please, get it over it. I'm watching the episode and I'm just blogging how I felt at that time."
Dr. V applauded the fact that Teresa called Melissa. "In-person communication is the best thing," Dr. V insists. "It cleans up a lot of misunderstandings. When I was with you, it seemed pretty easy to get each of you to see the other person's side. The blogging and tweeting is just a recipe for disaster."
