Kandi Burruss Gives the Scoop on Musical Tour
Exclusive: the 'RHOA' star reveals there are some changes to the script.
Fans of The Real Housewives of Atlanta saw snippets of Kandi Burruss' musical, A Mother's Love, on the show last season. But if you weren't in Atlanta for the premiere, chances are that you missed seeing the full-length production about a woman caught between a new love and her mother's controlling ways (sound familiar?). Now's your chance to remedy that!
Starting this September, A Mother's Love is hitting the road for a North American tour that features stops in New York, Detroit, Memphis, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and more. "I'm super excited about taking A Mother's Love on a national tour! This is a dream come true for Todd & I," Kandi tells The Dish exclusively about the musical that she wrote, starred in, and co-produced with husband Todd Tucker.
She even has an extra special treat in store for fans. "I plan on doing meet & greets in almost every city!" she reveals. "We look forward to being able to meet so many of our fans. Although I have been happy to share my life through Bravo, it is much more exciting for me to share my talent on stage and allow people to see the other side of me."
Kandi also reveals that the play has been workshopped from its original iteration, which starred Eddie Levert, Shirley Murdock and D. Woods. "There are some changes to the script. So the show will be slightly different," she says.
