Dave of 'Below Deck' Talks Porn Past

Below Deck's mild-mannered second deckhand David Bradberry dropped a major bombshell on last night's episode: He used to be a porn star.
"I was in the industry for a very brief time when I was really hard up, waiting tables," Dave explains to his castmates on the episode while they were discussing his recent engagement to boyfriend Trevor Knight—who's been working in adult films for eight years.

"I know it sounds weird, but I don’t really have hangups," says Dave, who met Trevor two years ago when he appeared in a vampire movie.
First officer Aleks Taldykin was shocked to hear about Dave's porn-industry past. "It's hard to reconcile because Dave is such a proper, you know, conservative, stick-to-his ways [guy]—he's a Marine for Christ's sake!" says Aleks. "And then saying, 'Oh yeah, I did gay porn,' out of nowhere, I'm like, 'What? Did porn?'"
Dave says he didn't mean to surprise his crewmates, but isn't ashamed of his past either. "It's not something I'm proud of and it's not something I like to dwell on. [But] I live without regrets," he says. "I met Trevor because of it. I wouldn't be here with you guys had I not ever gone into that industry. It's a very bittersweet kind of thing."
There's an added bonus to having met the way they did, says Dave: Prodded by another castmate, he sheepishly admitted, "The sex is fantastic!"
