It's About Working Life Out
Jackie reflects on the emotional year.
The ocean has always represented serenity and true peace for me and I knew that it would be the perfect place to reflect and remember Doug. This episode was shot some time after his death and the quietness we all felt was very evident in our faces and demeanor. I wanted to be very true to how I felt and mourn Doug in my way, which is not gratuitous, or for the cameras.
The Skylab clients were so excited to see their final results. We only had 2 months to get that weight off and I would have liked to see more of a payoff for some, but when I saw their glowing faces and all the growth that occurred ... I was beyond proud to have worked with them. I grew and changed right by their sides. I knew Lori (my client, ha-ha) would get the best results and I was especially rooting for Tess because I admire her inner fire and unwillingness to give up
Kiki, Kiki ... she was not ready to take the opportunity I gave her -- and that's a shame because it won't come back again. I am not angry with her just disappointed and worried for her. She will wake up one morning filled with regret.
I loved seeing the excitement from the Paiva execs. I turned that situation around in a very short time and felt immense pride seeing MY clothes in the store after all the stressful disasters-and the photo shoot was a blast!
When I look back at the year I have mixed feelings -- it was bittersweet. I went through a break-up, started new relationships, healed the relationship with mom, mourned dad, lost a beloved trainer. This show is not about working out, it's about working life out.
