Ignorance Is Not Bliss
Rebecca prepares her mom for kissing scenes!
Again, thank you so so so much for your comments. I read every single one and I appreciate the heartfelt feedback. I watched last week's episode in a sports bar in Vail, Colorado with my mom. It was so cute because I had to give her the heads-up before any kissing scenes so she could prepare herself. I think it's unnatural for parents to watch their children make-out on national TV. I asked her if it would be as unsettling if it were a man I was kissing, and she said yes. I get it. I would sooner lay down in traffic then watch my parents or any other family member passionately kiss ANYONE. EWWWW! But I digress, back to episode 5!
Oh joy, another scene were I'm stuffing my face! Is it as fun for ya'll to watch me eat as it is for me? I've noticed the camera crew really likes to zoom in on my mouth when it's full. Not sure what that's about really, but something to look into. So here we are on a romantic (hee hee) date. These scenes are always prefaced with cheesy intro music ... so when the score changes ... I find myself thinking ... UGH! Here we go! About the scenes with Jackie and me, I do like our scenes together because they are completely representative of how we interact. My time with Jackie is so effortless we often forget about the cameras. The chat about my use of acronyms made me giggle. Currently there is a radio spot running for a wireless company and the mother is yelling at her daughter Rebecca Lynn (which happens to be my middle name) to stop speaking in acronyms. I about crashed my car when I heard this!
The fondue debacle was very us. We don't have a typical "romantic" relationship. It's intimate and playful and there aren't many complications or games. I don't know what I was thinking when I compared Jackie to french fries. Her reaction to this was epic ... she was curious as to why I compared her to a side dish! So funny ... right? I must have been delirious during that interview because I honestly don't know where I was going with that analogy. It is a known fact amongst my circle of peeps that french fries are my FAVORITE naughty food. Maybe that has something to do with it! Who knows what goes on in this head of mine!? This brings us right to Lake Arrowhead ... scene of the water-tossing incident. Does every woman in Jackie's life have a drink-throwing problem? I'm beginning to think yes.
This must be protocol in her quest to find the "one." In all seriousness, it was a knee-jerk reaction to what I felt was a very undeserved personal attack. In retrospect, not the best way to handle the situation but sometimes the inner child takes over and people get wet. I managed to exhibit a modicum of restraint by not throwing the glass as well. Besides that's Jackie's ex's patented signature move and I would never dare copyright such excellence. The night ended peacefully ... we all kissed ... dried off ... and made up (not necessarily in that order) and had a lovely rest of the evening. And once again boys and girls: Jesse + wheel spinning = fun for the whole family :) Regarding Jackie taking Tiffany's phone call at the table, it did feel slightly strange only because she left the table. The bottom line is that I disdain secrecy. I like to know all the facts of the situation. I can handle anything if I know what's going on. Ignorance is NOT bliss in my world.
