Katie Maloney is not afraid to change up her look and, in particular, the Vanderpump Rules cast member has experimented with various haircuts and colors over the years. Recently, she’s taken a shine to shorter haircuts and has gone edgier and edgier with each subsequent chop. Her latest look is her shortest yet — even shorter than the pixie cut she got inspired by the music video for Natalie Imbruglia’s 1997 hit "Torn."
Prior to these haircuts, Katie has donned a chin-grazing bob, a wavy lob, and what her ex-husband Tom Schwartz dubbed a “Karen haircut.” She’s also had shoulder-length layers and an ultra-long hairstyle — not to mention her infamous "blonde-ification" during Season 2.

During her appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on March 19, Katie showcased her latest edgy haircut, this one featuring shorter sides and a sleek front.
Katie has been rocking the stunning look for nearly a year, and it's proven to be a signature look for the beauty. In fact, when Katie debuted her shorter style back in summer 2023, she received lots of praise for chopping off her hair.
Katie's Natalie Imbruglia-Inspired Pixie Cut from June 2023
Katie’s June 2023 cut was a blast from the past. On June 17, 2023, she posted an Instagram photo showcasing her latest haircut, which is her shortest chop to date. In the pic, she showed off a side-parted pixie cut with curtain bangs.
The look was inspired by Natalie Imbruglia’s 1997 debut single. The Grammy-nominated hit was accompanied by a now-iconic music video in which the singer donned a short haircut that has become known as the "Torn bob."

“Torn,” Katie simply captioned the photo of her hairstyle. The look was a hit with Katie’s cast mates.
“I’m DYING OMG,” Ariana Madix commented, followed by flame emojis.
In a subsequent Instagram Story, Katie addressed her ever-changing look. “Can’t stop cutting my hair,” she wrote.
Katie's Post-Divorce Bob Haircut
Despite Tom’s comments, it seems Katie was really enjoying her short hair life and, the following year, she decided to go even shorter with her haircut. In an October 2022 Instagram Story, a newly single Katie posed in her new solo apartment while showing off her latest chop. Her sleek new bob haircut was exactly chin-length, and she parted the style down the middle.
The Vanderpump Rules Season 9 “Karen” Cut
In Vanderpump Rules Season 9, Katie showed off her shortest hairstyle yet: A chic bob haircut, which fell just past her chin. Her then-husband Schwartz, however, had his own opinions on the style.
"Your hair is a little bit of a 'Karen haircut,'” he told her on the November 13, 2021, episode of the show. Naturally, Katie did not take kindly to those comments.

Shortly following the episode’s airing, Tom took to Instagram to backtrack. "Life pro tip: never tell your wife she has a Karen haircut" he wrote in a November 30, 2021, post. "Jokes aside I love her hair so much."
Katie’s First Lob Haircut in 2021
In February 2021, Katie went even shorter with her hairstyle, this time debuting a shoulder-length lob haircut. Sharing an Instagram selfie from the salon chair, Katie gave fans a look at her wavy layered bob, which was parted to the side. She tagged New York and Miami-based hairstylist Chase K, who gave her the cut.
Katie's Mid-Length Haircut from 2020
In September 2020, Katie debuted a haircut that, while still long, was much shorter than the ultra-long style she was wearing previously. Katie took to her Instagram stories to show off her new look which included a sleek and straight blowout and collarbone-grazing layers.

Katie’s super long hair, which she rocked circa 2019, allowed her lots of room to play around and experiment with styling. For a July 2019 party, the theme was “be extra” and Katie let her tresses do all the talking. She styled her mane into voluminous crimps.

Between the first and second season of Vanderpump Rules, Katie lightened her hair, and she spoke about the short-lived look with StyleCaster in 2015.
“Yeah. I mean, I still want to [dye my hair blonde] one day. I want to be a platinum blonde, but it’s so hard on your hair. I have really thick, strong hair so it could almost take it but the amount of upkeep," she said. "For being really into beauty and makeup, I’m also super low-maintenance. I think that I would get totally fed up of having to constantly go in and get my hair touched up. I would like to experiment with hair color more, but I just don’t know if that’s just a dream I have to give up."
