Katie Maloney Gives an Update on When Her Sandwich Shop with Ariana Will Open (UPDATED)
The Vanderpump Rules cast member teased a fast-approaching grand opening for Something About Her.

After Katie Maloney previously revealed that she and Ariana Madix were working to open their sandwich shop in May, the Vanderpump Rules cast member shared a new update on when Something About Her will be ready for customers.
“We were hoping by, like, end of May, but you know, in the nature of these things and starting a restaurant, there’s always gonna be things,” Katie shared on the May 31 episode of the So Bad It’s Good with Ryan Bailey podcast. “Our design and build-out and everything is gonna be finished by the end of May, so we’re not wrong about one of the things. We are gonna be open this summer… I’m hesitant to give a more specific time because the last thing I want to do is [have] people like, ‘You said…’”
“There [are] so many moving parts, and there [are] so many things that need to happen that sometimes ultimately aren’t really up to you, [like] when things can get approved… It’s just there’s a lot that goes into it. But yeah, it’s gonna be this summer, and we are really excited.”
Earlier in the podcast episode, Katie teased that once the doors are open, she and Ariana will get to work creating more locations. “There [are] obviously bigger goals for [the business],” Katie said. “Because it’s this one location, but obviously the goal is to have multiple locations.”

On Part 1 of the Vanderpump Rules Season 10 reunion, Katie Maloney and Ariana Madix shared an exciting update on their sandwich shop. During the episode, which aired on May 24, host Andy Cohen asked when Something About Her would open, and Katie and Ariana responded together that they thought it would be the end of May.
A Los Angeles Times interview with Katie and Ariana published on May 24 noted, “The pair don’t yet have an opening date for their new endeavor; in an ideal world, Maloney says, it will be as soon as possible.”
Although Katie and Ariana aren’t selling sandwiches quite yet, they are already drumming up excitement for the business by selling crewneck sweatshirts, T-shirts, hats, and phone cases. During the reunion episode, they revealed they’d made about $200,000 on merch sales alone. “That’s gonna open [the business],” Lisa Vanderpump said.

The wait is almost over. Katie Maloney and Ariana Madix’s sandwich shop is expected to open sometime this summer.
Katie shared the exciting update via Instagram on Thursday, April 7, when she was asked about the opening of Something About Her — an upscale sandwich shop that’s described on its official Instagram as “unapologetically feminine and undeniably delicious.”

The Vanderpump Rules cast member told her followers she didn’t have a definitive date for SAH’s launch, but she assured everyone they would open the doors sometime next season.
“It’s going to be this summer. It is,” she said in an Instagram Story. “It’s just a matter of if everything goes according to the plan … and there’s no hiccups along the way, which you can’t always plan for.”
Katie said she was hesitant to provide an exact opening date because they have yet to set everything in stone.
“So the last thing I want to do is to say, ‘Oh, it’s gonna be on this date,’ and it’s not, and everyone’s like, ‘What the hell happened?’” she explained. “So we’re planning for this summer. So stay tuned. I’ll let you know.”
Katie and Ariana revealed their plans to open a sandwich shop during Vanderpump Rules Season 9. Katie told fellow cast member Lala Kent she had discussed the idea of opening a sandwich shop with her then-husband, Tom Schwartz, who was in the process of opening a new bar.
“Tom and I talked about doing a sandwich shop and the whole thing, eventually,” she told Lala. “This bar’s going to keep him a little tied up for a while. So the other day, Ariana was like, ‘I’ll f--king do it with you.’”
Katie shared more details about SAH during a recent appearance on The Viall Files podcast, explaining why she and Ariana have yet to open the Los Angeles–based eatery.
“We wanted to really crystallize our idea and our plan, budget, branding all of it,” Katie told host Nick Viall, adding that she and Ariana have been working with a consulting agency. “I think a lot of people think like, ‘Well, is this ever gonna happen? You’ve been talking about this for so long,’” she added. “But this is part of the process, this is part of the process that probably takes the longest, aside from finding a location.”
