Padma Lakshmi Hints About the "Weird" Food Coming Up on Top Chef: "This Sounds Really Disgusting..."
The Bravo's Top Chef host revealed some surprising details about Season 16 in Kentucky.

Shortly after beginning filming for the upcoming Season 16 of Bravo's Top Chef all over Kentucky — and over-sampling the food highlights of the state — Padma Lakshmi declared that she already needed a cleanse. (It's hard to eat so good!) Indeed, she tends to gain a substantial 10 to 15 pounds per season of the show — but when Padma showed up on the Emmys red carpet to represent the show's nomination, she looked as slim and stunning as ever — so it's clear that she's managed a healthy balance, despite a Kentucky eating blowout.
"I've never spent any time in Kentucky, I had a lot of fun," she told E! "It was a lot of bourbon," she laughed.
Padma also let slip one very creative local dish that she had to try during this season's competition.
"It's a casserole with bananas, mayonnaise, and peanuts," she admitted. "It's like, this sounds really disgusting. But it was actually good. There were a lot of weird things like that, but it's good. I think it'll be a really fun show."
Padma's daughter Krishna Dell, 8, is also becoming a budding Top Chef in the making.
"She's really creative," Padma shared.
"She loves to cook. She sees me testing recipes and we make everything. She likes to make desserts, a lot of frozen sorbets and things like that. But she's using a knife now, so who knows?"
Who knows indeed — anything could happen!
