Top Chef's Chris Scott Lost 20 Pounds By "Sort of" Doing the Keto Diet (It Still Worked)
The chef/owner of Butterfunk Kitchen is realistic about lifestyle changes — while seeing major results.
Chris Scott was a strong competitor on Season 15 of Bravo's Top Chef, but now he is more than willing to share his personal secrets to success. The chef and owner of New York's Butterfunk Kitchen, which he describes as serving Amish-influenced soul food, has lost 20 pounds in two months on what he calls a "sort of Keto diet." He is quite honest in calling it "sort of," because Keto is usually based around excluding sugar and grains, including lots of good fat, and keeping the carbs low and protein moderate — and he's not strictly adhering to that.
"No carbs, minimal sugar. Eating primarily vegetables and animal proteins only," he wrote on Instagram as a caption to a picture of a slimmer self. "Don't sleep, I still slide a bowl of ice cream in the mix..... but certainly not like before. I'm only human."
Chris' approach might offend some of the Keto purists out there, but for the rest of us, it seems like a reasonable, attainable idea — and apparently, it works!
