Carla Hall Reveals She's Developing a New Show: "I Never Thought I Would Be on TV After Top Chef"
Carla Hall is "excited" about her new television ideas following The Chew's cancellation.
Before Carla Hall was a co-host on The Chew, she appeared on Bravo's Top Chef — which made her famous. And it's with Top Chef, she now says, that she expected her television career to end.
But things change.
"My next gig will be in television," Carla told the The News & Observer. "I never thought I would be on TV again after Top Chef." She also said that she's currently working on developing a new show in the hopes of working full time on television. "There are a few ideas I’m working on,” she told The News & Observer. "I’m excited about it."
Since ABC canceled The Chew in the wake of allegations against Mario Batali, Carla found a new role as a weekly food contributor on the new GMA Day afternoon talk show — much to fans' delight — which replaced it. Carla had been at The Chew for seven years.
She's also got a new book coming out this month, Carla Hall's Soul Food: Everyday and Celebration.
