Padma Lakshmi Stuns in a Red-Hot Gown with a Thigh-High Slit at the 2018 Emmys
The Bravo's Top Chef host stylishly rewore a sexy cut-out J. Mendel dress to the 70th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards.
To say Padma Lakshmi is a red carpet pro is an understatement. The host of Bravo's Top Chef has proven herself to be a seasoned style icon again and again, and even expertly pulled off one of the hardest red carpet looks. But this year's Emmys look may be one of the foodie's best yet.
At the 70th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards, held at Los Angeles' Microsoft Theater on Monday, September 17, Padma made our jaws drop when she strutted across the red carpet in a sexy cut-out gown with a thigh-high slit and a super low-cut neckline. But before we show you the fabulous finished look, let's take a peek at some behind the scenes shots of Padma getting ready for the big event:
To get red-carpet ready, Padma enlisted the help of celebrity makeup artist William Scott and celebrity hairstylist Michael Dueñas. "Some subtle glitter in a skintone for a wet (but not wet) look," Scott explained of the makeup look on his Instagram stories.
And here's the finished look:
From the red-orange color to the strategically-placed cutouts to the floating, pleated skirt, we're loving everything about this gown. But the best part? It's reworn! Padma actually first wore the plunging J. Mendel gown last fall for the Vogue India Women of the Year Awards in Mumbai — click here to see her wear the look the first time around. We love a good recycled fashion moment!
