Gail's Day Off: Zip Lining

If you're sitting there at your ho-hum desk eating your ho-hum lunch and your day needs a little pick me up — well, here it is.

How to Watch

Watch Top Chef on Bravo and next day on Peacock.

Welcome to Gail's Day Off, our digital series that follows Gail Simmons on her incredible adventures around Colorado during breaks from Top Chef Season 15 filming. Think flyfishing, biking, horseback riding, and more, all through positively stunning natural environs. (As if we weren't jealous enough of her job already.)

Gail also took some time on one of her epic days off to get her heart pumping with a high-energy outing that should be on the bucket lists of all thrill seekers and nature lovers alike: ziplining!

First, Gail got all suited up at Denver Zipline Tours with the proper safety equipment, helmet, and harness. (In addition to its life-protecting quality, Gail noted another bonus of the harness: "It makes the boobs look good!")

En route to her adventure alongside Top Chef Masters' Jennifer Jasinski," Gail mused: "This is the exact thing I hope to do on my days off. Otherwise I'd just be sitting in a restaurant somewhere... on solid ground... comfortable... who said this was a good idea?!"

And then there was nothing left to do but go for it.

"Ziplining is one of the most counterintuitive things I’ve ever done in my life. It’s sort of like jumping out of an airplane. Like, why would you hook yourself up to a string hundreds of feet above tree lines and just allow [it] to separate you from a certain death?! It seems ridiculous, but it was one of the most fun days I’ve ever had [related to the filming of Top Chef," Gail told Jet Set. "I wasn’t freaking out until we got to the first zipline and they hooked me in. It’s very surreal, a total adrenaline rush. We were so high up, and the view is so beautiful! Colorado is mind-blowingly gorgeous. You can see clear blue skies for miles with trees and mountains all around you. So in between screams — and I did do a lot of screaming along the way — I was able to really take it in!"

Watch the latest installment of Gail's Day Off above to see what happens when Gail steps off a tree-mounted platform and goes careening over the forest at 60 miles per hour. (Let's just say she has a choice word to describe the rush!)
