Wendy Osefo Is Starting a Home Essentials Line and Her Family Has Thoughts
"I'm branching off from my profession," The Real Housewives of Potomac cast member told her family while announcing her next venture.
Dr. Wendy Osefo is ready to make a major change. "I love what I do, but I don't know if it's what I'm passionate about," Wendy told her family on The Real Housewives of Potomac's July 18 episode. "So I want to start my own home essentials line."
While Wendy was excited to share the news, some of her family members were a bit skeptical, to say the least. "Oh, God, help me," Wendy's mother, Susan, said, before her sister, Ivy, asked, "What have you actually done to make that happen?"
Of course, Wendy came prepared and quickly pulled out an original candle that showed her new company's name. "It's Onyi Home Essentials because my middle name is Onyi and it means 'gift from god,' so Onyi is my gift to the world," she explained. "I haven't done any of the business side, I've done all the fun stuff. Like, I picked out the color of the lid, I mixed different scents."
As Wendy talked through making the drastic life change, she was hopeful that her family would be there for her along the way. "I'm gonna need you guys to really support me," she said. "Because I'm branching off from my profession."
"You've accomplished a lot," her mother said. "I'm proud of you. I support you."
Wendy was hoping for a similar reaction — and plenty of help — from her husband as well. "I am so grateful my mom was supportive because Eddie doesn't think I'm taking it as seriously as I should," she explained. "I want Eddie to be a motivator. I think working together we may butt heads. He's big on me knowing what I'm in for, and right now I am a couple thousand dollars in. I need a couple thousand dollars more. Like twenty thousand dollars."
