Gina Kirschenheiter Says Filming The Real Housewives of O.C. Made her Rethink Drinking
The Real Housewives of Orange County newcomer learned something about cocktails from show vet Kelly Dodd.
Gina Kirschenheiter already confessed to experiencing some culture shock when she first landed in Orange County. "All they eat is goddamn kale," she told the The Feast. But that's not the only thing that filming for the The Real Housewives of Orange County got the Long Island native to reconsider when it comes to her consumption.
When The Feast asked Gina to tell us her drink of choice, she said, "You know what? I love wine," she said — the sharpest of departures from the sentiments of fellow #RHOC newbie Emily Simpson.
"I mean I’m a Chardonnet lover, but you know I really do mix it up a lot," Gina continued. "I love dirty martinis. But... actually this whole season I’ve been introduced to a lot of new drinks."
That's thanks to the fellow 'Wives, she explains. "I drank a hot toddy for the first time — I didn’t really love it. And [I drank] something else... not a mojito (I don’t really like mojitos), but it was something else Kelly [Dodd] was always just making me drink — some weird fancy drinks. I don’t even know what it is!"
Even though cast mates like Kelly have encouraged Gina to expand her alcohol horizons, she says it's all about her roots at the end of the day. "I do enjoy a Long Island iced tea," she told The Feast. "I mean, that’s pretty stereotypical but they get the job done. They’re good you know?"
Good — and efficient, too.
