Gretchen Rossi & Slade Smiley Just Had a Major First Since Having a Baby
"You won't believe this," The Real Housewives of Orange County alum said.
Gretchen Rossi just had a big first since becoming a mom — and nope, we're not taking about her first mommy-and-me houndstooth moment with daughter Skylar (though that was glorious.) Instead, The Real Housewives of Orange County alum shared on Instagram that she and her longtime love, Slade Smiley, had an actual date night at a restaurant, with no high chairs or kids' menus necessary.
In her August 3 post, the California mom wrote, "You won’t believe this but this was our First Date night (just Slade & I) since Skylar was born [last July]." She added, "Yes it’s crazy to think we haven’t had a moment to ourselves, but between adjusting to being new parents together, work life, and just being utterly exhausted 24/7, we realized Holy Crapoly we had not had one date night together!"
After tapping her brother to babysit their 1-year-old, Gretchen and Slade made a reservation at AnQi By House of AN for after Skylar's bedtime. Mommy and Daddy got all dressed up to hit the Orange County tapas bar, where they ate in a garden area strung up with fairy lights, situated in the restaurant's former parking lot.
As Gretchen showed in her videos, the couple kicked off their dinner with a champagne toast, before diving into goodies like grilled corn, garlic noodles, and citrus fish in lettuce wraps. They didn't stop there: The giddy twosome also had prime rib, mushrooms, white-cheddar-potato puree — and plenty of cocktails. "That is an empty Tipsy Mermaid," Slade proudly announced about one empty glass.
Gretchen's caption continued: "It was a wonderful way to just talk, & reconnect with no distractions. These things are so very important to do with our partners, but sometimes life gets the best of us and we get to busy to take time to dress up and just be together. So I’m soo glad we finally got to do it!"
