It Takes a Village

Heather commends the ladies for making bold choices -- in love, marriage, and business.

By Heather Dubrow

Hi everyone!

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of Orange County on Thursdays at 9/8c and next day on Peacock. Catch up on the Bravo App.

These past couple of weeks have been so crazy! As all of you busy moms out there know, the end of the school year is jam packed! Anyway, I am getting ready to head off to a Mother's Day Tea in Katarina's classroom and realized I hadn't written a blog. . .so here goes. . .

I thought Slade asking for Gretchen's hand in marriage was very sweet. I know he is close to G's parents. It was the appropriate thing to do. Scott had a lot of good comments about marriage and relationships. He seems like a smart man. Telling Slade he has to clean up his image and debt situation before moving forward was sound advice.

Gretchen and Tamra at lunch: I'm so glad that Tamra is branching out and opening a fitness studio. She is the daughter of a small business owner. I'm sure she will do well!

Gretchen talking about her relationship with Slade echoes her Dad's comments from the bike ride -- she is being thoughtful and smart about her future.

Wines by Wives! What a great concept. I love all these women making bold choices! Opening businesses! Taking (calculated) risks! I know this will be huge for Vicki and Tamra!

I thought everyone looked beautiful at the party. It's such fun to dress up, drink good wine, and spend time with friends -- and for a good cause as well! Briana and Ryan are so sweet together. I hope it lasts and that she's happy. They both deserve it

I think it's great that Tamra is ready to get her tattoo removed. Having her ex-husbands name on her ring finger must be strange at this point. I know Eddie will be happy about this!

I don't care for people being late to events. It's rude. If you are lucky enough to be invited somewhere, be on time. It's indicative of a person who has no regard for anyone else's time or feelings.

Brooks getting too familiar too soon with Michael and Ryan makes him seem inauthentic. I know he is nervous and wants to connect -- but it's coming off as too much. When Brooks met Briana it was so awkward! I felt bad for everyone. The good news is they are all in a better place now and spend lots of time together. They just needed time.

Finally, I want to wish everyone a very, very happy and healthy Mother's Day! For all of you who are moms, grandmothers, aunts, sisters, daughters, teachers, friends, babysitters ,etc., we all know how hard it is to raise children. It takes a village. Take a little extra time this Mother's Day to thank your village.

I'm eternally grateful to be blessed with four amazing children. That is the best Mother's Day gift of all.
