Learning to Move On
Jeana discusses the finale party, what she learned this season, and her friendship with Vicki.
The party at The St. Regis was very beautiful, the flowers, the view, the staff all made it a 5-star experience. I definitely would want my daughter to get married there someday. I was busy mingling at the party and didn't see Lynne's girls arrive. All the housewives' children were having a great time. I am sure the alcohol in the limo was the reason why the Lynne's daughters were intoxicated, I heard the bartenders turn the girls down several times when they tried to order drinks. The moment Lynne's girls got out of control, she started making plans for them to go home. She did the right thing - don't reward bad behavior, and when someone that young drinks, they really don’t know how to handle it. Lynne has so much on her plate, with her cuffs and moving constantly, I hope this year brings her good fortune in her business and that her girls step up to the plate and get jobs.
Kara is a straight A student, and works as a waitress 3 days a week and at E! Entertainment 2 days a week, she is in Kappa kappa gamma sorority and she manages to see mom once every 2 weeks. There is no reason Lynne’s girls can’t get motivated. They need to realize that if they don't go to college, job choices will be slim. Colton has been after me to let him take Fresh Start so he can get a job. He is in his last six months of high school and I am fighting him on it. I want him to enjoy high school, he has his whole life to work, he has his mom's strong work ethic and I am so proud of him. He is the captain of the baseball team and is a leader in so many lives he touches. Baseball season starts now and we are looking forward to a great season. Colton also works a few times a month for a catering company owned by Chaz Bradley, and he is going to learn to be a deck hand on the Pacific Avalon cruise lines, so that is enough. Colty is doing the college search and getting closer to a decision. Shane starts spring training this week, and is so excited to be back doing what he has always wanted to do, follow in his family legacy. He is bigger, stronger, and wiser so I hope he has a great year. Good luck, Shane! He worked very hard during the off season, he and his brother and several other local ball players worked out twice a day, so he is ready for the new season to begin.
Gretchen and Slade looked adorable when they arrived. Their outfits reminded me of Kara and her winter formal dances, but they looked awesome. I actually thought we might be there for an impromptu wedding, which would have been fun. I think they will marry. Gretchen is ready to be a mother.
Kara was helpful in shaking Alexa out her depression when Raquel left the party without her. She is very good at psychology and figuring out what the deeper issues are. Kara can’t stand by when she sees someone in distress, just like her mother. It is a curse I got from being the daughter of a fireman.
I wasn't on the show very much this season, but my favorite moment would have to be the reunion party, when everyone gets together for drinks to celebrate the last episode. It is great to all be in one place.
I learned a lot about myself this season. I learned that I can fall in love again. I learned honesty in a relationship is the most important thing to me. I discovered I need a break from having one boyfriend; three is better and less stressful. Online dating is freaky, and it doesn’t work for me. I learned that I am a little ADD, and am changing diet and coffee reduction to see if I can slow down and be a better listener. I ask for help when I need it, I don’t try to be a martyr and do everything myself. I learned that your real friends come out in adversity, and Rebecca V, Patty R, Chaz B, Trevor P, Ben M, Christian G, Keith R, Quinn F, Allan, Lupe, Scott D, Christy H and Rick have all taught me to believe in myself, get divorced, and move on. As much as I want to help my soon-to-be ex, he has to do it himself. I won’t feel guilty that I didn’t try everything, I tried everything. I also learned that it isn't very nice to text bad news -- deliver it in person. Have a wonderful week, I hope you enjoyed the fashion, the sassy girls, the high drama and the wonder of the St. Regis in our lovely Reunion special. It was a magical night and when all is said and done, we are all friends. I have had so many inquiries about my relationship with Vicki, we are like sisters, we fight, we make up, we share shoes, gardening tips and no matter what, we'll be friends forever.
