Gina Kirschenheiter: It’s Natural to Inquire About Unconventional Marital Situations
"I don’t think Emily brought it up to the other women with the intention to throw me under the bus, but I was caught off guard."
Bravotv.com: Were you upset that Emily had talked to the other ladies about Shane kicking you out of the house?
Gina Kirschenheiter: I was definitely upset to hear that Emily had talked to the other ladies about Shane kicking me out of their house. When it happened, I didn’t respond to Shane. I walked out with Emily and her sister-in-law. The other women were still getting into their cars as I was walking out. I didn’t linger in their home. Emily apologized for Shane immediately, and I of course apologized for her kids' routine being interrupted. But the fact is, no one knew their was any issue upstairs. I was surprised and shocked by Shane’s reaction, but I felt for Emily in the situation and so I told her not to worry, I would never bring it up. She agreed. It was uncomfortable for her. I felt bad for her. I don’t think Emily brought it up to the other women with the intention to throw me under the bus, but I was caught off guard. It turned into a much bigger situation than it needed to be and I felt the need to defend my integrity. I was disappointed.
Bravotv.com: Does it bother you that the women seem to have so many questions about your marriage?
GK: It doesn’t bother me. I think it’s normal for them to want to understand my situation. I think also a lot of the women have been in previous relationships that were filled with a lot of hurt and not a lot of trust, so they are just wired to expect the worst. It’s ok. It’s natural to inquire about unconventional marital situations. I also think it’s natural for Vicki and Tamra to discuss it while I’m not there and question it. They weren’t saying anything that anyone else wouldn’t already be thinking, and they weren’t saying anything disparaging.
