Ramona Singer: I Wanted My New Apartment to Be Edgy
Ramona Singer gives us the deets on her renovation.
Watching last night was really fun. I loved working on my apartment and creating a new vision for it. I started out knowing the color scheme I wanted and the look. I knew that greys were a calm color, but that I wanted it to be edgy to make me feel great. I also think that working with different price points of furniture is key. I bought things from Pier 1, Mitchell Gold, and Ethan Allan. I brought in some color with oranges, different tones, and by adding accessories of different shapes and styles from many different stores. Home Goods is truly a favorite, as is CB2. They always have interesting pieces.
I also enjoyed finding different types of art, from photography to prints to actual paintings. Not using a decorator and doing it myself, I knew that it would be all I wanted it to be. My contractor Mario from Bathwarehouse in Linden, N.J. was so easy to work with. When we opened up the kitchen to create an easy, family lifestyle from kitchen to dining to living area, I knew that I would be spending a lot of time there! I do love to entertain and have dinner parties! The TV from Samsung is a great focal piece, since not only can I put a fireplace on, but I can watch all my favorite TV shows. I also got all my stainless kitchen appliances from Samsung as their style and quality is perfect.
Keeping with my theme is my housewarming party. I wanted to step out, wear my hair in a high ponytail, and dress in a more edgy way! My next step is the master bedroom and bath! I will keep you all posted on the big reveal!
