Luann: I Like My Martinis Dirty and My Language Clean
Luann explains her stance on the whole F-bomb debate.
Super excited about the release of my new song! Have you heard it yet? It’s called “Girl Code (Don’t Be So Uncool)” and you can download it on iTunes here. Let’s start dancing!
I love the Turks and Caicos! If you ever go, have the rum...it’s delicious. We began our afternoon with everyone deciding to stay for Bethenny’s lunch and Ramona and Sonja ignoring her pleas to “just go.” If you say, “go,” they want to stay, if you say, “stay,” they want to go. The girls couldn’t resist chiming in on Ramona’s plans to write a book, and I disagree with Carole that you can only write when you know how your story ends. Life is a journey, and Ramona can write about what she wants, when she wants, and she can name her book anything she pleases. Life is a “work in progress,” and if you decide to stop evolving in your 50s, it is you that has the problem, not Ramona! Bethenny loves to give advice to her friends (and frenemies), and she really is a know-it-all most of the time.
I was glad to see Heather apologize to Sonja. Heather, like Bethenny, can come off as too opinionated and harsh at times, and she had no right to judge Sonja. As you can see in this episode, we all enjoy our cocktails while on vacation, and if there is a time and a place for partying, Turks and Caicos is it!
The Conch Shack is a quintessential beach bar where you can let your hair down and have a good time dancing in the sand while sipping on rum punch with the locals. The owner, John, is a handsome host, who I’m sure gets more than enough attention from vacationing women, and as you see, he caught the eye of Ramona right away. She was Ra-mingling that night and she gave us the cold shoulder. She totally froze us out and completely broke the “Girl Code.”
I was glad to see that Bethenny left this vacation a happy camper! She was up bright and early to catch her flight and so were we to head to the fabulously chic Gansevoort Hotel. Once Sonja and Ramona came in from the beach for lunch, the girls put Ramona in the hot seat almost immediately. When Ramona’s cornered, she strikes outward rather than looking inward, and her calling out Carole for being so judgmental while Carole’s sleeping with a 20-something wasn’t surprising. Ramona did apologize fairly quickly to keep the peace, but we made her suffer by freezing her out that entire day.
I decided to apologize to Sonja for judging her too harshly and to let her know that I want her to triumph. I want to see Sonja dance on her own table and enjoy her life. She’s trying to tie up the loose ends from her divorce and get her finances under control, and I know how long and how hard she’s worked to gain control of her life. I hope I got through to her, because I worry about her and love her very much.
Do you F-bomb or do you swear off swearing? God knows I’m guilty, but I still don’t like it. I plan on working on that for myself, so I can set a better example for my children, because I hate it when they swear. I’ve always liked my martinis dirty and my language clean!
Until next week from the Turks and Caicos…don’t break the #GirlCode.
