Out of Bounds

Welcome back, my friends! I’m glad you’re joining us for what promises to be the best season yet, filled with new friendships (and frenemies), parties, travel, and yes…drama!  I’m happy to report that Jacques and I are still an item and that Victoria and Noel are pursuing their dreams. Victoria is applying to art colleges and Noel continues to work on his skateboard company, FancyFool.

You can see when I’m having coffee with Aviva that we’ve known each other for quite some time. In fact, I met Aviva at party right after I moved back from Switzerland and we’ve been friends ever since. I’m also friendly with her ex-husband, Harry. When we were talking about Sonja dating her ex, I felt the need to share that I’d went out for drinks with him before meeting Jacques. Aviva was not surprised and is very gracious when it comes to Harry and her friends.

I decided to pull Ramona aside at Sonja’s party because I wanted to clear the air with her for questioning my commitment to my kids and for criticizing the choices I’ve made about where to live and work. My kids are my number one priority, and I’ve managed to balance being a mom with my career. Ramona’s defensive reaction didn’t shock me at all. I was prepared for her to deny any wrongdoing, but I thought it was better to try regardless of how much she protested her innocence.

Heather is smart, ambitious, and talented, although she got a little heavy in this episode. It’s not that I didn’t care that her father just died, but the place to share that is not during cocktails when the conversation is supposed to be light. I certainly didn’t want to think about how much I miss my father when I’m out socializing and trying to have a good time. As for Carole, she is intelligent, charming, and very accomplished. I’m enjoying getting to know her better.

I’m OK that Ramona didn’t invite me to her dinner party; I was busy with Victoria’s art show in any case. Ramona doesn’t censor what she says and her calling out Sonja for saying husband versus ex-husband was insensitive, especially when Sonja explained how she didn’t think she’d ever get divorced in the first place. Awkward!

Victoria has loved drawing since she was young girl and her portfolio is amazing. I know I’m biased, but Victoria is showing incredible promise as an artist. Her work is fresh and invokes emotion in the viewer. The show was a great success with Victoria selling much of her work. I’m very proud of her. I felt I needed to share Ramona’s threat with the other girls so they would know to watch out when dealing with her. She doesn’t respect boundaries and is willing to use my children as a weapon to hurt me. I’ve never met anyone as vicious as Ramona. Now, Ramona has a lot more to apologize to me for if we are ever to be friends.
