Iconic RHONJ Restaurant Rails Steakhouse Is Making a Difference Amid Coronavirus
The Towaco eatery that served as the backdrop for many RHONJ scenes is now feeding frontline workers.
Eagle-eyed fans of The Real Housewives of New Jersey know that there’s a particular restaurant in the Garden State that the ladies love to dine at for many of their most special occasions. Over the years, Rails Steakhouse has served as the backdrop for many iconic RHONJ moments, from Joey Gorga’s first communion to the explosive Season 7 finale, where Dolores Catania and Siggy Flicker ended up barefoot in the parking lot of the Towaco, New Jersey restaurant.
Although restaurants are currently closed for dining in New Jersey due to the coronavirus pandemic, Rails Steakhouse has found a way to make a difference in the community while still fulfilling their takeout and delivery orders. The restaurant has created an effort called the Rails Supports Our Community Program, which has already donated more than 1,000 meals since March 29.
On Wednesday, May 19, the restaurant brought 600 meals to the front line workers of Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center in Newark. Prior to that, they had donated 400 more to various New Jersey communities in partnership with a local church.
“The team at Rails Steakhouse in Towaco, NJ and AME Inc. wanted to say thank you to all the front line heroes who have been risking their own health and have endured great sacrifice for our communities,” said Mike Mulligan, Director of Rails Steakhouse. “The BBQ we serve you all is our way to show deep appreciation and gratitude for doing all that you do!”
