The Truth Will Prevail
Lynda welcomes fans to the new season of DC, and recaps her press tour showdown with Tareq Salahi.
Wowwwww! This day is finally here! After months of filming, tons of delays and major emotional challenges along the way, the anticipated first episode of the Real Housewives of DC airs tonight. I am so excited that you will be entertained and enlightened by what it's like to live in DC, the most powerful city in the world!
OMG, what a week it's been! I feel the need to respond to the events of the past week and to explain what has unfolded. What should have been a celebratory time turned into sour grapes, literally, all over my beautiful Zac Posen suit and Fendi shoes! As discussed on The View and numerous news outlets, I went to the defense of two women who were being verbally abused by Tareq Salahi, my fellow castmate’s husband, at the NBC fall preview party at the Beverly Hilton. As you'll get to know me over the next few months, you'll discover that I do not allow abusive behavior in my presence. I asked him politely to please calm down, and then he proceeded to curse me out, and threw a glass of red wine in my face. I responded with a glass of Perrier. Yes, it was embarrassing, especially in front of the journalists who also were present and stunned at Trader Vics that night. But, I’m not surprised by his actions, and I would do it again if I witnessed abuse like that.
Many people have asked me why I have agreed to be on a reality show. It is my intent throughout the series to be honest and truthful about my life. You may not always agree with what I have to say or do, but I have to keep it real and be true to myself. As the series unfolds, I believe the truth will prevail.
