Secret Thoughts

As many of you will have seen by now, Part Two of the Real Housewives of D.C. reunion was a long and emotionally exhausting ordeal, thankfully peppered with some much needed comic relief by my hilarious castmates. It was in some respects healing to have an opportunity to confront the many issues that arose throughout filming. However, with regard to the unresolved drama, I am no longer interested in participating in these perpetual spin cycles with the Salahis. Salahi-fever is contagious and detrimental to everyone who becomes infected. By now, they and you all know clearly where I stand. For the sake of moving forward, I would prefer to focus on "forgiveness." 

I believe in and therefore expect greatness from everybody. Of course, we all have room for improvement and should never stop seeking to better ourselves. Learning to forgive those who are unconscious incompetents is more fulfilling and personally rewarding than to expect your expressed disappointment or anger to be someone else's catalyst for change. I will continue to work on myself as that is all I have control over, and ultimately all I am responsible for. Even my secret thoughts (not that there are many I won't share) can effect change for better or worse, as eloquently described in the following poem by Ella Wheeler Wilcox:

Secret Thoughts

I hold it true that thoughts are things

Endowed with bodies, breath, and wings,

And that we send them forth to fill

The world with good results—or ill.

That which we call our secret thought

Speeds to the earth's remotest spot;

And leaves its blessings or its woes

Like tracks behind it as it goes.

Now that we have reached the conclusion of the first season, I am feeling a mixed sentiment of relief, anticipation, and gratitude. I am relieved to have more time to focus on my busy life and its myriad demands. I am grateful to my family and friends, as well as the cast and crew for keeping this show "real." Thank you again to everyone at Half Yard Productions and Bravo whose patience and consideration, as well as creativity made this experience a pleasure and the show a success. Lastly, but far from least, I am thankful to you viewers for your continued support, candor, and encouragement.
