Lisa Rinna Shares How Brandi Glanville Inspired Her Love of Wigs
The RHOBH cast member reveals how the former ‘Wife motivated her to switch up her iconic ‘do.
Though Lisa Rinna has been sporting her iconic short ‘do for years, she still finds ways to switch up her hairstyle. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member, who has rocked everything from long blonde locks to curly tresses with bangs, loves experimenting with her look— and it turns out she has a former ‘Wife to thank for her love of wigs.
In an interview with PEOPLE magazine, Lisa revealed how RHOBH alum Brandi Glanville motivated her to start trying out different hairstyles. The mom of two was inspired to start switching up her hair after Brandi criticized her look at the Season 5 reunion in 2015, telling her, “You've had the same hairdo for 20 years!”
“It really was that," Lisa told PEOPLE. "'I've had the same hair for 20 years' or whatever Brandi said. Now it's 25, 30 at this point! But yeah... it was Brandi. I don't even need to give credit to her, she'll take it forever!”
As fans know, wigs have become a staple of Lisa’s beauty routine in recent years. She often documents her various hair looks on Instagram, even assigning character names, like Darlene or Taffy, to each wig.
"I'm telling you, the wigs have been so much fun," Lisa said of her many hair changes. "I'm an actor by trade, but I haven't done a whole lot of acting in the last few years so I haven't itched that scratch of stepping into different characters.”
Lisa went on to explain that wearing wigs have also acted as a confidence booster for her, even helping her while filming RHOBH. “Let's say there's a scene I'm doing and I'm feeling like, 'Oh God, I'm dreading going' — I throw a wig on and honey, I just walk through that door with confidence," she said, also adding, "It's amazing. I love what a wig does. They've been such a great form of expression for me.”
