Dorit Kemsley Explains Why She Dyed Her Hair a Darker, "Honey Bronde" Hue
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member detailed what went into her decision to get a "fresh" look.
Back in February, Dorit Kemsley showed off a brand new hair look: a rich bronde (a fusion between blonde and brown) hue. “Love my new color,” The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member captioned a February 18 post that showed three different angles of her sleek, straight hair, which kept some of her previous lighter blonde but added sandy and golden brown elements.
It seems the new look has been doing very well for the Beverly Hills mom, who detailed what led into her decision to go to the dark side (of the beauty realm, of course).

“I just felt like I needed change. Being a blonde, it’s very high-maintenance,” the Beverly Beach founder told Page Six Style in an interview published on April 25. “And I’m so high-maintenance as it is, I just feel like my hair should not be as high-maintenance!”
Dorit, who spoke with the outlet while hosting a gala for the Homeless Not Toothless foundation on April 22, said that her "honey bronde" locks also encouraged her to "explore other elements" of her style, which is "representative" of her mood.
She added: “I don’t know why I take this upon myself and create more work for myself, but I’m so particular about it. So, I think the brown hair for me … I wanted something fresh, I wanted something different and it felt like, ‘You know what? It’s about time.’”

Dorit Kemsley's Gala Dress
Dorit definitely proved her brunette-style bona fides at the gala as she showed off the deep rich color with a so chic black mermaid dress.
The black dress had an elegant silk rose on one shoulder, and the mom of two paired it with simple accessories, including hoop earrings and jewel-studded bangle bracelets. She carried a black evening clutch that glittered with jewels of its own. She pulled her honey-blonde hair back into a half-up style and had a glowy bronze beauty look.
In addition to looking fabulous for the evening, Dorit definitely put her all into organizing the event — a cause which is near and dear to her heart. According to a press release, Homeless Not Toothless, which was featured on Season 12 of RHOBH, is “a Los Angeles–based nonprofit dedicated to providing free and quality dental care to Veterans, the homeless, foster youth, survivors of domestic abuse, homeless LGBTQ+ youth, and other disadvantaged populations.”
“I was immediately taken by what Homeless Not Toothless does for the community and the support they provide to the underserved,” Dorit said in a pre-gala statement.
Kyle Richards weighs in on Dorit Kemsley’s new hair color
On Season 13, Episode 2 of RHOBH, Kyle Richards shared her opinion on Dorit’s newly colored tresses as she admitted that it’s still taking her some time to get used to.
“I didn’t even know that was you at first,” Kyle told Dorit, to which she responded, “Because of my hair.” Kyle went on to tell her BFF that her honey bronde locks haven’t fully “registered” in her brain yet.
