Lisa R.: Portia Is My Spirit Animal
Lisa R. discusses the PUMP party and why she wants to buy Portia lunch.
Can you believe we’re already in the last week of 2014? It’s been quite a year full of fun, love, and, of course, new adventures! I’m really excited to see what 2015 has in store for everyone!
Ok, first of all, I have to give a huge shout out to my girl, Portia. I laughed watching her and Kyle in the closet when she was asking about me and Lisa V. Probably a smart move on Kyle’s part to plead the fifth when asked which Lisa was better, but for Portia to say me and then pull out her Hello Kitty toaster in a later scene to make a sandwich? Oh yeah, I’m pretty sure Portia and I are spirit animals. I owe that cute (and very smart!) little girl lunch!
It’s always so much fun to co-host Access Hollywood with Kit Hoover. I happened to fill in for Billy Bush that day and really enjoyed working with Kit. Quite honestly, I just really love to do live TV, and I realized this from the first time I had the opportunity to fill in for Kathie Lee on Live With Regis and Kathie Lee. I mean, c’mon, who wouldn’t love a gig like that when you learn from the ultimate professional, Regis Philbin?! Hosting Soap Talk for four years was a blast, and I jump at any chance I get to host live TV. And of course, getting the opportunity to do the ALS ice bucket challenge right there on Access Hollywood was exciting as well!
Speaking of, I was also very impressed to see Yolanda step up and take the ALS ice bucket challenge right there on the spot during Lisa’s tea at PUMP! Her best friend has ALS and clearly she would do anything to show her support. Kudos to Yolanda.
What a lovely opportunity Lisa V. provided all of us to be able to help give back to the teenage girls in foster care. I was thrilled to donate a few of my dresses, especially the navy blue gown I designed for my Lisa Rinna Collection on QVC! All of us are incredibly fortunate and blessed to have so much, so anytime I can offer my service, time, or personal belongings for a good cause or charity, I’m so there. Throw in a lovely tea time at PUMP with the girls, and it’s a no brainer!
So, I feel like the olive branch thing kinda backfired on Brandi a bit, but I get what she was trying to do. I also know how much Lisa’s 100-year-old olive trees mean to her, so Brandi yanking a big branch off of one of the olive trees probably wasn’t really the best offering. Not sure offering to "you know what" her pussy was the best idea either, although it sure as hell made for a hilarious conversation, didn’t it? Apparently, I said the word "cunnilingus" six times in one minute. Not sure I have ever actually used that word in a sentence, and here I was saying it
six times in one minute over a cup of tea at PUMP. Let’s also just state for the record I have never even written the the word "cunnilingus," and I have now typed it out twice in this paragraph. Since I seem to be on a roll, I may as well mention how funny it was to hear Yolanda say cunnilingus and then wonder if it was a vegetable! Good times and many laughs were had thanks to that ridiculous conversation!
When the group moved over to Il Cielo without Lisa, since she had to work, I found myself in somewhat of an awkward situation. Raising two teenaged girls, there is one thing I have learned: Everyone’s feelings in a situation are valid. Because of this, I want to be present for everyone in the conversation sharing their side and their feelings, yet still air on the side of caution for anyone not present to share their own part of the story. It’s always tricky when there are strong feelings present among a group of women, and there are indeed strong feelings with this
group to say the least! So there was Eileen and myself, trying to precariously figure out what on earth had been going on, and I must say, by the end of dinner, all I knew was that there were hurt feelings and lots of healing and closure that needs to happen.
But this pattern tends to be a natural progression of life, doesn’t it? Conflict that hopefully leads to resolution. In the case of Brandi and Lisa, I feel as if they’re dancing the cha-cha with one another. Forward and back with some more forward and back. I suggest you buckle your seatbelts because this is definitely shaping up to be a wild ride!
I wish you have a fun, safe and blessed New Year!
Xo,
