The Celeb Dentist Behind Kyle & Ramona's New Teeth Dishes on Their Procedures
Dr. Michael Apa reveals the surprisingly subtle procedures that improved the smile of each Real Housewife.
While most of us actively try to avoid the dentist's chair, two Bravolebs can't seem to stop gushing about their time spent with celebrity dentist Dr. Michael Apa — and we can see why. In a recent interview with Page Six, the dentist to the stars sat down to discuss all the subtle ways that the Housewives altered their look and we can't believe how impactful these small changes were.
Ramona Singer revealed her new stunning smile in April that had her raving. The Real Housewives of New York City entrepreneur had been a patient of Dr. Apa's for general dentistry for the past 15 years, but she hesitated to have porcelain veneers because of her commitment to aging gracefully. But, after her new grin was complete, shared that she was "beyond thrilled" with the procedure that induced by a number of front cavities.
"She has a very distinct look to her teeth so it was about replicating that, taking out the cavities and things like that but making her look very similar to when she came in," Dr. Apa explained.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' Kyle Richards counts herself as one of Dr. Apa's many celebrity clients after she visited the cosmetic dentist in March for treatment which resulted in her grinning more than ever before.
In the video, Dr. Apa discussed Kyle's procedure: "She had great teeth but she didn't show her teeth. And so one of the biggest things for her was being able to smile without having to strain. And it was probably one of the most recognized mouths that I've done because everybody noticed after she told them that she had her teeth done that she didn't use to show her teeth before because her lips covered them. I built her teeth out and all of a sudden she showed her teeth and it made such a dramatic difference in her entire face."
Kyle contacted the sought-after smile-crafter through Instagram (a popular way for new clients to connect, according to Dr. Apa). "I believe patients seek me out not only for my artistic ability in understanding how someone should look, but I think I take it one step further in understanding a patient's personality and being able to capture that in their smile," he offered. The procedures range in price, but Dr. Apa mentions in the video that his prices hover around $4000 per tooth.
