Lisa Vanderpump Has a Strict Rule When It Comes to Incorporating Her Favorite Color into Her Home
The Real Houswives of Beverly Hills and Vanderpump Rules restaurateur abides by this rule when decorating her home.
It’s the age-old design question: How do you work your passions into your decor without going overboard? Like, say you love squirrel figurines... but do you really need 100 of them in your living room? For Lisa Vanderpump, the answer is simple: everything in moderation.
Case in point: It’s a pretty well-known fact that the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member has a certain affinity for the color pink — she used to go by the nickname Pinky, after all. But when it comes to outfitting her palatial homes, she takes a more measured approach. During a recent chat with Home & Design about her Beverly Hills mansion, Villa Rosa, Lisa revealed that her strategy for working in her favorite hue involves a bit of restraint. Instead of slathering her rooms in pink, she starts with a basic middle-of-the-road base color and then adds pink accents and flowers from there.
“I like a neutral palette,” said Lisa. “For the most part it’s a neutral palette with accents like the flowers and roses and things like that.” She also acknowledged the one exception to that rule was her bedroom, which is completely covered in pale pink.
