Here's What Marlo Hampton's Mom Had to Say After Finally Seeing Le' Archive
After not seeing her mother for years, The Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member was "excited" to show her mom her latest accomplishment.
On the September 4 episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Marlo Hampton declared, "My fashion [sense] comes from my mom...I am definitely Emma's child when it comes to fashion." With that in mind, as she saw her mom for the first time in three years, Marlo was especially excited to show her the Le' Archive showroom.
Immediately, Emma was impressed with Marlo's business. "It reminds me, somewhat, of your closet as a little girl," she said, later adding, "I'm proud of you. You're doing this."
In an interview with Vogue earlier this year, Marlo opened up about what motivated her to start Le' Archive, which offers rentals of more than 5,000 luxury designer items personally curated by Marlo.
“One day, I was laying down thinking, what am I going to do? I think I may be a full-time munty,” Marlo explained. “I had all these clothes upstairs. I knew I wasn’t selling them on eBay, but I had to take care of these boys. At first, I was like, ‘Okay, maybe you should sell them.’ But then immediately I said, ‘there’s no way I can sell them.’ I kept thinking, ‘That’s my first gown from Paris I purchased 10 years ago. There’s no way I can sell this or this PVC bag that no one can get. That’s like $10,000 or $11,000.’ So, as I was laying down, I said, 'I’m going to start a showroom where you can rent these clothes.'”
"Fashion is just in my DNA,” she continued. “I was raised in [project housing], but, at the time, my biological mom would go to the Goodwill to get our clothes, come home, wash them in the tub, and hang them on the line all for us to be the best-dressed kids in Maplewood."
