Cynthia: I'm Moving Forward in Grace and Love

MOVING ON

I am embracing my future and moving on from my past. There is a point when you realize you have to walk away from anything and anyone who no longer embraces you. I am focusing my time and energy on the people in my life that love and support me as opposed to those who do not. I refuse to waste another second looking back at what is no longer there. I am moving forward in grace and love. Life is too precious to be travelled backwards. Nothing is more painful than being stuck somewhere you don't belong. When people want to be in your life, they make an effort to be in it. I am no longer reserving room in my heart for anyone who doesn't want to be there. I am not closing the book, but I am turning the page.

BUILDING BAR ONE

In the 1920's and 1930's, Auburn Avenue was known as "Black Peachtree," the thriving commercial and cultural heart of African-American Atlanta. Saxophone wails steamed out of the jazz clubs, and well-dressed men and women sauntered past the brick facades. It is the birthplace of Martin Luther King, and other heroes of the Civil Rights Movement. Today, Sweet Auburn's prosperous past is hard to discern through the dilapidated buildings, but underneath the grit and grime is an important part of the country's history.

Peter and I are very inspired and delighted to make Auburn Avenue the new home of Bar One. As African-American entrepreneurs we are proud to be a part of the efforts to revive and resurrect this historically famous avenue. I love Atlanta and its rich black history. I am very excited to partner with Peter on building the new Bar One, because I know it will be hugely successful. I believe in him, and I see his vision. I also believe in the Bar One brand, as its success has already been proven. From a businesswoman perspective this is a great investment, and as a wife I will always support my husband. Our goal is to build Bar Ones in other major cities such as Miami, New York, Chicago, DC, and Houston. Sports One is already open in Charlotte, and doing extremely well. Wish us luck, and I will keep you guys posted!
