What Ever Happened to Spark St. Jude?
Episode 18: Bravotv.com's Associate Editor counts down this week's top three moments.
No. 3 - Say What?
The "black baby" drama continued (and hopefully came to an end) this week when Kim confronted Cynthia about her comments in South Africa. It was a little awkward to watch until Cynthia admitted in her interview that she didn't actually remember what she had said. Oops! But they were going on and on about it for a good five minutes! It kind of made the whole thing anti-climactic yet hilarious. Perhaps there is value in 'Wives telling other 'Wives what they're saying behind their backs -- that way at least someone knows what you've been saying in case you've forgotten.
If there's one thing Phaedra has really driven home this season, it's that she loves pomp and circumstance, whether it's at a funeral, a birthday, or her son's dedication ceremony. And nothing says pomp and circumstance quite like royalty, so Phaedra went ahead and booked a photo shoot fit for the royal family in honor of Ayden's dedication. And she certainly looked like the queen of Atlanta in that red, leopard-print dress. I only wish she had gone with one of those over-the-top headpieces she was trying on to really drive home the "black royalty meets Michelle Obama" look. (Side note: If Phaedra was a drag queen in another life as the stylist suggested, I want to travel back in time and meet her).
I do have to admit that Ayden was adorable in his little tux on the throne. Hopefully these pictures added that "touch of elegance" Phaedra was going for.
But most importantly, what happened to Spark St. Jude of the notorious pickle photo shoot?!
The most valuable lesson we learned from this episode was by far Kim's harrowing tale of flaming wigs. Evidently one should never microwave a wig. Who knew?! Kim popped it in a plastic bag for a deep conditioning treatment, turned it on, and cooked herself a wig flambe. If only that moment had been captured on tape. Sigh. Perhaps that was why she hadn't used the oven at all, the incident of the burning wig had scarred her for life.
