Kenya Moore Found a Fail-Proof Trick For Fabulous Hair
The #RHOA beauty queen keeps it cool—literally.
Kenya Moore has a talent for maintaining an enviable mane. (And, many other talents as well—but today, we're dealing with the skin-deep.) The Real Housewives of Atlanta pal often gets asked about her gorgeous hair, and when she sat down with Essence recently she revealed what she does to keep it healthy and shining.
Growing up, Kenya's grandmother and beauty muse told her: "hair is your crowning glory." So, Kenya's always been invested in hair care, even before she started her own line. During a Facebook Live chat with Essence, Kenya revealed that she always keeps a roller set on standby—but she avoids overheating her locks. "You really should not put a ton of heat on your hair," she said. "A lot of companies market flat irons and curling irons at 450 degree heat. That's what you boil chicken at. You put chicken in the oven at 450 degrees...We have to get away from the relaxers and direct hot heat and tension on the hair altogether."
Kenya also confessed to a surprisingly relaxed approach to makeup. The former pageant star has dealt with cystic acne, so she likes to keep her skin as clean as possible when she's not on camera. "If I wasn't here, I wouldn't even be wearing makeup," she said.
