The Glammas Learn 'How to Get Away with Murder'
From Carol Burnett to Viola Davis to Snooki, Teddi, Ayn and Sue discuss television in this week's Coucher rundown!
Bravotv.com: What was your favorite TV moment from this week’s People’s Couch episode?
Teddi: The only thing I can say is how low can you go with Snooki and why does anyone really care? I guess you had to be in from the beginning, but again I don't feel like life has passed me by for not watching. There was nothing that knocked my socks off. Praise the lord for no zombies. Weird to see Johnny Depp stoned. Actually, that was one of the funniest segments we have seen. Seemed real. Love The Voice but mostly because of Blake Shelton as I think he is honest and humorous and love the juxtaposing of the different judges, plus some great voices. And it seems pretty real. David Letterman was sort of a bust and we did not find him very funny. I think the Shark Tank cast are a combination between sharks and barracudas and don't seem to really give people much of a chance which they could all well afford to do, but are self serving and mean at times.
Bravotv.com: What are your favorite current shows and what should everyone be watching?
T: The only show that I think should be watched is a little news. Then people might know who the vice president of the U.S. is. Different networks to get a rounded picture. Of course, I will be watching Dynasty, Alabama football, and Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.
Bravotv.com: What are your favorite shows and characters of all time and why?
T: My favorite show is Downton Abbey. Love the filming, setting and characters. Maggie Smith as the grande dame is my favorite and her one-liners are hysterical. Love the interlacing of upstairs and downstairs. Keeping almost 50 storylines going is amazing and each unique. The plot is set up so far ahead and so subtle.
Bravotv.com: What TV show was the biggest influence on your life? How?
T: The show that has impacted my life the most is People's Couch, of course. Never dreamed I would be doing TV show but that is what makes life such fun. Who knew? Love doing the show and crew are my favorite as they are all fantastic. And now if that rich boyfriend would come round the bend that would be great as well. Need someone who loves to travel and doesn't need a walker or oxygen tank.
Bravotv.com: What are your thoughts on ‘How to Get Away with Murder’ episode and the show in general? Can Annalise Keating be trusted? Who do you think killed the sorority girl?
T: I thought How To Get Away with Murder was creepy and pray my kids never had to sit through a class with a professor like that. She is evil and does not help the legal image. As for the usual suspects in the murder I think they all took part per her persuasion or a guaranteed 'A'. Maybe the show should have been entitled How to Get A Guaranteed 'A'. Thought the time changes weakened the plot and were confusing and I have not watched it since. What TV I do watch is to be entertained or programs on National Geographic, Discovery, or History. But most of all SPORTS. Football, football and more football. Got to watch 'Bama and glad it has been on prime time, and on prime networks.
Bravotv.com: What fall season premieres (new shows or returning shows) are you most excited about?
A: While I’ve been recuperating from my shoulder replacement surgery in August, my TV is my new BFF! Discovered New Girl and I am hooked. Great story lines and loveable, relatable characters.
Bravotv.com: What are your favorite current television shows?
A: Masters of Sex is a must see! SEXY topics, realistic views on relationships, difficult to accept how complacent women were in those days and how men really ruled with their "cojones" (Texas slang for balls) and attachments. Hard to believe I was one of those 1950’s and 60’s women who didn’t have an any idea of what was going on. Hell, I was a virgin when I got married (in 1968, at the age of 22). And believe it or not, most of my friends were too. I sadly believed that “sexual attraction” was the same thing as love. Downton Abbey: When this show is on, my eyes are glued to the screen. I love the sets, the costumes, the attention to detail. It makes me feel like I’ve lived in that era in that kind of household. The characters are so real, even though they’re so "British" and straight-laced. To have been able to wear one of the maid's outfit would have been an honor. And I thoroughly love to hate the sleazy mole and his ugly, evil conspirator! Orange is the New Black: I am so thrilled to see that many great TV roles for women. Each one is so chiseled, so real; they could be friends of mine on the outside.
Bravotv.com: What are your favorite current shows and what should everyone be watching?
A: The People's Couch, Masters of Sex, Downton Abbey, Orange is the New Black, The Big Bang Theory.
Bravotv.com: What are your favorite shows and characters of all time and why?
A: I will always watch The Golden Girls. They are ageless! Still make me laugh and love them. Let's do this show again. I volunteer to be ANY of them!!! America needs "mature women" in prime time TV!
Also, The Danny Thomas Show, Walt Disney, and American Bandstand because I was just getting to that age, and I wanted to see and be like those "cool kids," have the clothes they wore, have a "boyfriend," etc. Dobbie Gillis, Ed Sullivan Show (cause I wished I could one day appear on a show like that! All the "ideal family" shows. Father Knows Best, Leave it to Beaver, Lassie Come Home -- I wanted my family to be like those -- wishful dreaming.
Bravotv.com: What are your thoughts on ‘How to Get Away with
Murder’ episode and the show in general? Can Annalise Keating be
trusted?
A: I was so impressed that the leading character was a woman who was stronger than any one she ran into. She was ultra intelligent and clever; she spoke her mind, no matter what, without caring what others thought. Yet she had a feminine side; a sexual side; an emotional and vulnerable side. As a client or a student, I would trust her. As an employee or acquaintance, I’d WANT to trust her, but I’d still be leery of her.
Bravotv.com: What was your favorite TV moment from this week’s People’s Couch episode?
Sue: I really like that gal on How to Get Away with Murder -- she's nasty but gorgeous. State of Affairs looks to be a good one to watch. And, of course, I like David Letterman.
Bravotv.com: What are your favorite current shows and what should everyone be watching?
S: In my humble opinion, everyone should be watching THE PEOPLE'S COUCH!
Bravotv.com: What are your favorite shows and characters of all time and why?
S: My favorite shows are CNN and all sports. Oldies that I miss are Carol Burnett, I Love Lucy and The Fugitive. Favorite character of all time is Carol Burnett because she makes me laugh and feel so good.
