Love isn't Rocket Science
Rachel thinks laughter is the key to love (not list making).
Every now and then we come across a heavy hitter in the public eye that needs our help. This week we answered the S.O.S of the amazing Judith Reagan. I also brought in a savvy catering business owner Andrea Correale. Again two women, since it seems NY is the town of lonely millionairesses.
Judith was an easy and fun client as she just wanted Bruce Vilanch "Version Straight.0" So of course what better place to find her type than at Caroline's. Let the laughter commence! NOT! We saw some of the un-funniest men ever to set foot in a comedy club. It was like watching paint dry. Just when we thought we were going to have to try to flip Bruce, in walked John and Chris. They were the perfect mix of funny and sincere. We then decided to throw in our pal Dave from one of our last mixers, since he was a millionaire and quite the jokester.
Andrea was our challenge of the week because of course there always has to be one pain in the you know what. She came with a list longer than Santa's. Did you notice the color-coding going on? I think she was 40 going on 10. All one needs is five non-negotiables, and that's it. No color needed. Take those five and use that as your guide to finding your mate. DONE. So after Patti's bonfire, I hand selected some gents for our dinner party mixer: Lou, Craig, and Carlos. Personally I was really rooting for Craig.
The dinner party at Delmonico's started off rocky, because when I was about to enjoy the baked Alaska, Miss List had to throw a tantrum about the men we chose for her. REALLY? Craig was cute and successful, Lou was handsome, romantic, and sweet, and Carlos was a passionate foodie. And you my dear have the meatballs to accuse us of not giving you your rainbow-coded wishes? Get over it, lady, these guys are perfect! So we gave her a lashing and she chose Carlos.
Meanwhile back at the adult table, Judith and her suitors were full of laughs until Dave "crazy pants" decided he was 12 and had to be moved. Maybe he and Andrea should have hooked up? Judith did have a tough time choosing between John and Chris, but picking John in the end was great. He really was perfect for her. Here's to love!
I have to say the dates were really great. The Museum of Sex was hilarious and fun, and the nice dinner was the icing on the cake. You could really see the chemistry with Judith and John. As for Andrea, well, although cooking for Carlos was a sweet gesture, she didn't listen to us as and let Carlos plan the date. Why don't they ever listen to us?
The moral of the story is as follows: 1. Laughter is the best aphrodisiac for getting those juices flowing 2. Ditch the list, finding love isn't rocket science.
