Hilary Duff Is Trying to Induce Labor With This Food That’s Rumored to Work Magic
Pregnant songstress Hilary Duff is willing to give this tasty urban legend a shot.
Sure, some women experience food cravings during pregnancy. But when it comes to the home stretch of those 40 weeks, many pregnant women have a strong desire for just one thing: to finally meet their little one (and, honestly, to be done with the whole pregnancy thing). Hilary Duff can relate, and she's willing to try nearly anything to bring delivery day closer.
The songstress, who's expecting her second baby, recently shared an Instagram Story about the salad she was about to order at Los Angeles restaurant Caioti Pizza Café. And this is not just any salad: It's actually called "THE" Salad on the menu, and it's said to have magical properties for mamas-to-be.
"This salad is supposed to make you go into labor…..@caioti_pizza don’t let me down,” Duff wrote on her Stories to caption a photo of the salad. THE dish is made with a base of romaine lettuce and watercress; it's topped with walnuts, gorgonzola cheese, and balsamic vinaigrette.
But, according to a cafe employee who spoke to E! News, the magic lies in a special, secret herbal blend.
"They say it's in the dressing, which is just a balsamic and there are special herbs that make women have contractions and go into labor. None of the servers know what exactly is in the 'special herbs' mix, only the kitchen knows."
Well, now we're curious. We did a quick search on herbs that can make you go into labor, and here's what we came up with: blue cohosh, black cohosh, raspberry leaf, castor oil, comfrey root, and primrose oil. Those aren't exactly pantry staples for most people, so we'd be more inclined to give THE Salad a shot, if we were in the area.
Just FYI: "It costs $13.95 for a full and $10.95 for a half," the server told E! And that's not bad at all if you get a baby out of it.
