Kelsey Grammer Is Opening a Brewery, According to Docs Filed in Fourth Wife's Name
No word yet on whether Kelsey Grammer's Faith American Brewery will be a place where everybody knows your name.
Kelsey Grammer has for years been working on plans to open a brewery — and it looks like it’s finally happening. The Cheers and Frasier actor — and The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills ex-husband — now has an active license on file with the New York State Liquor Authority.
According to New York Upstate, the license for Faith American Brewery is not a brewery license; rather Kelsey’s fourth and current wife Kayte Grammer has a wholesale license in the name of Faith American Brewing Company LLC. It took effect last month and and expires on July 31, 2019. With that license, the new company could have a separate brewery make the beer, with Faith American marketing it as a wholesaler, according to New York Upstate. Faith American used a different brewery — Shmaltz Brewing — to whip up a test batch last year.
The license lists the business address at 344 Ruff Road in Margaretville, located in the town of Middleton in upstate New York's Delaware County.
At the same time, the actor has a pending license for a "summer tavern wine" for a business named Fabco Odyssey, also located on Ruff Road in the Catskills.
The actor made his plans to launch Faith American Brewing public back in 20016 — and he drummed up the buzz again in 2017 when he discussed it on "Live with Kelly and Ryan." At that time, Kelsey said the project was being delayed by pollution control issues.
Earlier this year, Faith American posted two videos about the project on Facebook which were live only briefly before being removed. New York Upstate however captured some of the content. In it, Kelsey says, "We've still got a few years to go before we're actually brewing beer on this site. But we've started with the beer already and we're very excited about it.
He added a note about the timeline: “25 years ago I found this land and fell in love with it and ever since then I've been trying to figure out a way to return it to a kind glory. This was once a vital area, it was once sawmill… on the creek. I just took it on myself to believe that it was my obligation to find a way to make it prosperous again…. I bought the barn at the top of the hill and that seemed to be the perfect place for a brewery."
