How to Watch

Watch Married to Medicine premiering November 24 on Bravo. Now streaming on Peacock and the Bravo App.

Over the course of two-and-a-half years, Married to Medicine's Dr. Heavenly Kimes has lost an astonishing 75 pounds…and she's kept it off. Though she had gastric banding surgery in 2007, going under the knife was not what ultimately led to her weight loss success: changing her mind-set did.

"I made my vision board of how much I wanted to lose," Heavenly tells Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "I looked at it every day and reminded myself why I wanted to do it—I wanted to be healthy for my family and to live a longer life."

Reaching her current weight of 158 pounds in December, Heavenly has been maintaining her svelte physique by sticking to a consistent diet: oatmeal, egg whites, tomatoes and onions for breakfast; a salad for lunch; and grilled fish or chicken with plenty of vegetables for dinner. "I pretty much ate the same things every day to make sure my caloric intake remained the same," she explains.

The Atlanta dentist also goes to her personal trainer twice a week, does weight lifting four times a week, and makes sure she spends at least some time either on the treadmill or walking through the park almost every day. "I'm more energetic, and I'm able to do more with my husband, and children," she says of her new healthy lifestyle, even though she admits that it's still a challenge. "I still work at it every day—it's not easy," she confesses.
