Mystery Solved: Jax Taylor Explains Why He Gave James Kennedy Underwear
Both of the Vanderpump Rules guys said it was a "nice gesture."

Vanderpump Rules Season 7 started off with a feud: Jax Taylor vs. James Kennedy. The two haven't always been on the best terms, but they seemed to have made up last season, even enjoying a boys' night out fueled by absinthe (see the clip above). However, in the Season 7 premiere episode, Jax was angry with the DJ after he rapped about Jax's past indiscretion with former SURver Faith Stowers, and his now-fiancée, Brittany Cartwright, overheard.
It's a shame the two are fighting again, then, when they could've become friends. In fact, James noted that before dropping that line about Jax and Faith, the two had been on such good terms that Jax even bought James Supreme underwear as a gift.
"Two weeks ago, literally, Jax just bought me some brand-new, limited edition underwear," James said. "Like, that's such a nice gesture, thank you."
However, a gift of underwear between platonic friends isn't exactly the most expected kind of present, which left fans wondering what the story was. Luckily, when Jax visited The Daily Dish podcast, he had an explanation at the ready.
"I know it was a weird thing to buy," Jax admitted. "This is the time where I was kind of like, listen, I'm trying to be kosher with the guy; I dont have the energy or the care in the world to sit here and try to be your friend, I'm never going to be your friend, it's just not going to happen. But I was trying to be like, listen, let's just be civil for the sake of being civil. And I get gifted a lot of stuff. And somebody gave me the Supreme [underwear], which is a brand, I'm not really a big brand guy... but at that age, I was a big brand guy, so I understand how much he loves the brand Supreme, so I was like, I got this, it'll be a nice gesture, I'm leaving town, I'll stop by, I know he's at SUR, I got this package of Supreme boxer shorts, which are very hard to come by. So I just thought it would be a nice gesture."
So being that it was a re-gift, does that make the gift less weird? Unclear, but Jax also outed himself as a briefs guy: "I don't wear boxers," he revealed. "I wear Calvin Klein 'steel' underwear; I need to be held in. I never in my life have ever been able to wear boxers. I just can't do it... I just don't like being free."
