UPDATED (December 30, 1:20 P.M.): Get ready to deeper inside Louie and Teresa's relationship with The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 13 premieres on Tuesday, February 7 at 9 p.m. ET/PT with a 75-minute supersized episode. Each week, the episode will stream next day on Peacock.
The original story continues below.
On Season 11 of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, Teresa Giudice introduced viewers to her then-beau, Louis "Louie" Ruelas, for the first time when the two went out on a dinner date.
Fast-forward to Season 12, and Teresa wasn't going to let any of the other RHONJ cast members burst her "love bubble" with Louie — and the couple got engaged after filming wrapped.
The lovebirds wed in the Garden State in August of 2022, and fans will get to see more from the nuptials in an upcoming special.
A few months after their grand wedding, Louie accompanied Teresa to BravoCon 2022. During the "Jersey Ladies & Their Men: Part 2" panel, Louie shared some long-awaited insight into his background. He spoke about his upbringing, his first marriage, and his business past.
His childhood and family
At the panel, Teresa's husband — who said he is Dominican, Puerto Rican, and Mexican — shared that he was "born and raised in the Bronx." However, his family, which includes his two sisters and his one brother, moved to the suburbs of New York when he was around "13 or 14 years old."
Louie said that he is still close with his siblings, and with his parents.
What does Teresa Giudice’s husband Louie do for his career?
When Louie was just 19 years old, he started a marketing and media company, which he took public in 2020. On the panel, Louie said that he had a "pretty successful career."
Unfortunately, as Louie revealed on the RHONJ Season 12 reunion, he was let go from his company because of "all the negative stuff that came up in the press" from his exes.
His home life
Louie met his first wife when he was just 13 years old, and the two ended up being high school sweethearts.
He married his now-ex when was 24, and the couple welcomed their two sons, Nicholas and Louie Jr., when he was 27 and 29.
In his early thirties, Louie said during BravoCon, he began to deal with some "childhood stuff." He blamed himself for the end of his first marriage. He split up with his wife when he was around 35.
Louie said on the panel that one of his sons lives with him full-time, while the other splits his time between Louie and Teresa's house, and his ex-wife's home.
The newest RHONJ husband actually moved out to New Jersey full-time in 2016, which is where he met his now-wife, Teresa.
His relationship with Teresa
The year after Teresa announced her split from her first husband, Joe Giudice, she met Louie.
The now-spouses first met in the summer of 2020, when Teresa was out on a walk with a friend in the Jersey Shore. As Teresa said on the BravoCon panel, she had been talking to her late parents on the same block a few weeks earlier. She asked them to send her a man who would be "everything they dreamed of and more."
Louie called Teresa the "love of [his] life," and it looks like the newlyweds are still living in their love bubble.
