Captain Kerry Fires Another Crew Member on Below Deck Season 11: "I'm Doing You a Favor"
The St. David crew lost yet another yachtie on Season 11, Episode 12.
After the departures of Bosun Jared Woodin and stew Cat Baugh, things were steady with the St. David crew for a little while on Below Deck Season 11.
However, on Season 11, Episode 12, which aired on April 22, Captain Kerry Titheradge made the difficult decision to fire another crew member. This time, it was Chef Anthony Iracane.
Though popular amongst the crew members, the French chef began to progressively struggle more and more each charter in the galley as the guests' preferences and requests overwhelmed him.
Who Got Fired on Below Deck Season 11, Episode 12?
After the crew got their lowest tip of the season — in part because the guests weren't satisfied with the food on board — Kerry made the decision to fire Chef Anthony Iracane.
"I think you're an incredible chef. Your food is absolutely amazing," Kerry said. "But, you're starting to kind of nosedive."
"I don't really know what you're talking about," Anthony responded, and Kerry then pointed out some of the recent critiques the chef has gotten on his food, timing, and attention to detail.
"So why are people telling me every day that I'm the most amazing chef in the world?" Anthony wondered. "So, either people [are] full of sh-t, or..."
"This is not the right environment for you, mate. You're not flourishing here... If I keep you here any longer, I'm going to set you up for disaster," Kerry concluded. "I'm doing you a favor."

As Anthony explained to the Aussie captain, he had never been fired before. "The first time ever in my life," he said.
"I'm shock[ed]," he said in an interview on the episode. "That's not real. It's not possible."
"I have a lot of respect for you, mate," Kerry said before shaking Anthony's hand. "A lot."
In his own interview, Kerry shared why he made the decision to let Anthony go.
"It's heartbreaking. I don't like this at all. The crew was starting to notice where the chef was failing us," he said. "If I keep this guy any longer, morale will be terrible, and I can't have that."

After learning his fate in the wheelhouse with Captain Kerry, Anthony returned to the galley. He then started to tell some of his crewmates about his firing.
"This has nothing to do with you," chief stew Fraser Olender said when he found out. "You are the kindest and nicest chef I've worked with. This reflects on how difficult it is to work in yachting."
Later, while talking to Bosun Ben Willoughby, Fraser admitted that his "heart is broken" for the chef.
"Me too," Ben said. Deckhands Kyle Stillie and Dylan Pierre De Villiers were shocked by the news, and Dylan gave Anthony a long hug once he learned what happened.
In his final interview, Anthony opened up about his bond with the rest of the crew.
"I love everyone, and I'm going to miss them so much," he said. "The only thing I need is cooking for people. The only thing [that] make[s] me happy."
Who is the new chef on Below Deck Season 11?
Viewers will have to wait to find out who will be replacing Chef Anthony on Below Deck Season 11. However, Kerry did drop a few hints about his replacement on Season 11, Episode 12.
"Owned some restaurants," he said about one potential candidate while leafing through CVs. "He's been doing this for a while."
Moments later, Kerry sent a text to the yacht services coordinator.
"Hey, get that new chef on a plane ASAP," the text read. "He's hired."
He then told Fraser and Ben that the new chef would be there the following day, and that he would help them finish out the remaining three charters of the season.
